Thumanism and Man's Quest for Immortality
Throughout human history, people have sought immortality. Traditionally, beliefs and legends of immortality have played an important role in many cultures. In ancient times, legends and mythologies showed immortality as the privilege of gods and heroes.
Transhumanism is a movement centered around the idea of using technology to enhance and expand the human condition. This movement involves extending human lifespan, increasing our mental and physical abilities, and even achieving immortality. Man's quest for immortality appears in many fields throughout history, from mythology to philosophy, from literature to science.
Transhumanism is a movement of ideas that includes the search for human improvement and immortality.
This concept has gained importance in our age where technological developments are rapidly advancing. It carries out studies in areas such as transhumanism, bioengineering, nanotechnology, neuroscience, artificial intelligence and human-machine integration, which aim to improve human physical and mental abilities.
However, with the development of medicine and technology, people now consider the quest for immortality in a different context.
Transhumanists believe that biotechnology, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology and other advanced technologies can fundamentally change human life. For example, studies are being carried out on methods such as slowing down or stopping aging with gene editing and increasing our mental capacity with brain-computer interfaces.
Some important points about transhumanism:
1. Human Improvement: Transhumanism aims to improve the quality of human life. This means health, longevity and better living conditions.
2. The Quest for Immortality: Transhumanists aim to extend human life and even make immortality possible. This is attempted to be achieved through genetic interventions, cellular regeneration and other technological methods.
3. Religion and Transhumanism: Transhumanism in the Islamic world is a subject that has not yet been widely discussed. Islam emphasizes the human soul and states that the physical body has no power to provide eternal life.
4. Spirit and Human Existence: According to Islam, what makes a person human is his soul. The soul does not have a physical and material structure and gains meaning through faith, not science.
5. Healing and Man's Guarantee: Man's soul is under God's guarantee. For this reason, people's search for improvement can be viewed more easily and solutions can be produced.
Transhumanism is an approach through which humans can achieve immortality by transcending their physical and mental limitations. This idea is based on the proposition that humans can be long-lived and even immortal by combining their biological structure with machines and digital technologies. Transhumanism also aims to increase the quality of life and life expectancy of humans.
Transhumanism and the quest for immortality is an exciting yet complex and multidimensional topic that makes us think about the future of humanity. Therefore, Transhumanism offers us a philosophical approach that includes not only technological developments but also human nature, ethics and social values.
As a result, immortality and transhumanism question the fundamental questions of human existence and make us think about how the future can be shaped.
